Well, this is most of the parish

Some of Our Annual
Church Events
Mass/Picnic on the Beach. Come summertime we all trundle out
to Fort DeSoto ("one of the best beaches in America"), set up in a pavilion
and worship -- and picnic -- there. We bring lots of friends, eat heartily,
play games and we celebrate life.
Usually somewhere around Pentecost Sunday.
The Tasters' Luncheon. A fine old fundraising tradition that draws out
the best recipes in this congregation. We sell tickets to friends
from all over the area for tastes of an enormous variety
of specialty dishes, salads and desserts.
Women's Annual Spring Tea. This is a lovely event that the
whole community looks forward to:
traditional, formal, but fun, and delicious.
Men's Community Prayer Breakfast. Our Men's Brotherhood (the
longest-running Men's Club in this diocese) sells tickets to this big Saturday morning
event, complete with a community leader as guest speaker and a breakfast
even heartier than usual. Early December.
Service Auction. Yes, we really do auction off
people's skills --
from house cleaning assistance
to a Creole
Banquet ... all kinds of instructional help from computer
tutoring
to making Jamaican ginger beer ...
house
painting, quilting classes and yard work.

This is not a church where you can easily disappear. You are encouraged to speak up,
speak outand speak freely. We are aware that we're all inventing something here --
and we realizethat God's will is seen best
when we hear from many voices.
